faq
am i a candidate?
Most people are. Skin Strategy services are designed to work across a wide range of skin types, tones, and concerns. Very few contraindications apply--primarily bleeding disorders, active Accutane use, and certain auto-immune and slow healing conditions. We're unable to treat clients during or immediately following chemotherapy or radiation treatment. Several other conditions require a physician's clearance before booking — including but not limited to immune-compromising conditions, certain skin disorders, and recent surgeries. If you're unsure whether your medical history affects eligibility, contact us before booking and we'll guide you through it. Clients referred by their physician for post-treatment restorative care are welcome — we're happy to coordinate timing with your care team.
does it hurt?
Most procedures are well tolerated with little to no discomfort. When needed, topical numbing is applied. Plasma procedures require topical numbing. Post-procedure sensitivity, similar to a mild sunburn, is normal with some treatments and resolves quickly. Your comfort is our priority throughout.
is it safe?
Yes. All materials that penetrate the skin are sterile and single-use. Pigments used in all procedures are certified REACH compliant — the highest standard in the European Union for chemical safety in cosmetic products. Serums are manufactured to the highest standards, with growth factors that are bioidentical and synthetically derived — no live animal or human components are used in any formulation.
how many sessions will be necessary?
Most solutions require a series of sessions to achieve optimal results. The number varies based on the nature of the concern, your individual response, and consistency with aftercare. This is something we assess together and adjust as your skin progresses.
how do i prepare?
General preparation involves pausing anything that actively changes or sensitizes the skin in the weeks before your procedure, such as tanning and retinol products. Regular exfoliation and supplements that support healing can also improve your results. Specific preparation instructions will be provided at booking based on your treatment plan.
what is the downtime?
Downtime varies by procedure, from as little as 90 minutes to 7-10 days. Avoiding sun exposure, friction, sweat and water submersion on the treatment area for a few days is common to most procedures. Facial procedures may involve more social downtime than body treatments. Specific recovery expectations will be discussed at your consultation.
what payment options are available?
A variety of payment options are accepted. Financing is available through Affirm, and STUDIO membership allows you to accumulate credit toward any service while applying discounts to services and products.
